BC Home and Garden Show
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the BC Home and Garden Show at the new Vancouver Convention Centre thanks to the discount offered through Groupon.
It was filled with booths ranging from cleaning agents, to garden ideas right up to modular homes.

One of the reasons that I wanted to build a greenhouse, was to have Abraham Mao have places to hide and play.
I wanted to build for him a beautiful garden over time. However, unfortunately, he did not have that time. I still want to build him that greenhouse, in his memory. I hope that he likes it.
Greenhouse
I wanted to buy a greenhouse for my yard, to extend the growing season, and to have something on the gravel pad that was created for a storage shed.
Local stores carry greenhouses, for the size that I wanted would cost $1500.
I found someone on craigslist that wanted to sell theirs for $550. Alas, it was sold before I could arrange transportation.

Short cut to cook hard boiled eggs
Cooking hard boiled eggs can be a hassle because you have to take care of the heat and water. This method of cooking the eggs whereby you don't have to worry whether they are over-cooked or under-cooked.
1) Place two pieces of tissue paper inside the rice cooker and sprinkle them with water.
2) Put in the eggs.
3) Close the lid and press "Cook" button.

Hot water Radiators
You need to raise your system pressure by adding more water. Pressure equals height in a heating system. You add water, the pressure raises, and you bleed the air vent until you get water. The reason it works when the system is cranking is the higher the water temperature , the more the water expandsand this equals higher pressure.
Kitchen vent repair
If the vent is not working, say the fan is not working but the lights are working, it is probably easiest to get a new vent, rather than repair. It costs about $50.

Useful Domestic Tips
Peel a banana from the bottom and
you won't have to pick the little 'stringy things' off of it.
That's how the primates do it.
Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store.
If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
cheese
Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil.
It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!
Peppers
Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating.
Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.
Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef.
